My tweet mag

For sale in this week's Cage and Aviary Birds...

Face it, it's mostly budgies, canaries and African Grey Parrots, but other interesting stuff includes

European Eagle Owls
Snowy Owls
Red-footed Falcon
Golden Eagles
Redpolls - all flavours
Bufflehead (£300 a pair)
Hooded Mergansers (£125 pr)
Meadow and Rock Pipits
'Siberian' Bullfinches

The price of Hooded Mergs and Buffleheads compares to about £500 for a pair of African Greys :-O

But can you tick'em when they escape? I guess I'll have to ask Lee.

You can definitely tick Bufflehead and Hooded Merganser when they are on Unst.

Yes, you can. it's a mercy-ticking. You wouldn't want an escapee to be *that* lost. It's all due to the tides. Unwanted yankee ducks are put into sacks and thrown into a Manchester canal, where they float out to sea and end up on Unst. Well known phenomenom. It's cos the council charges £15 to take them away, if you put them in a fridge.
